I like spending my time on social networking sites to follow some great peoples, read their thoughts and ideas, find good friends online and to build a network. Earlier i used to like facebook but not anymore i love twitter a lot nowadays! I was excited to test various twitter client on my Android device before settling to Tweet deck but recently switched to Official Twitter App. tweet deck was good but there wasn't much settings to tweak and development was slow. twitter on the other hand is great it has all the needed features and i like it the most. Recently i came across another twitter client called Twidere which bring full Holo Experience to any Android device!
Holo experience is nothing but the ICS UI style! The User Interface of Twidere is really good. The dark theme really enhance the Holo Experience which you can change in settings.
One thing i find missing in the twitter App is we can swap the screen to switch to different section we have to manually click on the options while in Twidere you can swap the screen to switch to different sections. Twidere has four different sections Home, Connect, Trending Tags and User Account. With the recent update twitter now doesn't display the twitter client of the User but Twidere shows the users twitter client.
Unlike every twitter client Twidere has lots of options to tweak in settings.
you can uncheck the option to display the profile image to save traffic.
you can place a transparent compose tweet button at bottom, this is helpful if you have a big screen size.
filter tweets from particular user OR source, just mention the twitter handle to filter tweets from the User
twidere remembers your last position so whenever you refresh you are not taken to the top to the latest tweet. just check to remember the position in settings.
GZip Compressing for compressing all API Request to reduce traffic.
you can setup Proxy.
you can set auto refresh time and notifications type in settings.
Twidere is free and open source but it is not just another twitter client, there are whole lot of tweaks which can be tweaked so that it dance to your tune. the Holo experience is good and refershing while scrolling is smooth. Twidere works on Android 1.6 aka Donut OR higher. A must try App!
